Range Description This species is restricted to areas of permanent and temporary water in the Red sea coastal region of Yemen and Saudi Arabia. It has an altitudinal range of sea level to 2,400m asl. Habitat and Ecology It is a highly aquatic species, found in temporary and permanent waterbodies; it is also present in irrigated areas. Eggs are laid in the water. The species may aestivate during the dry season. Population It is extremely abundant where it occurs Population Trend Stable Major Threats There are no threats to the species.
