Range Description

This species is known from hilly areas in central and south-western Hainan, China, from 290-1,000m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It inhabits small, low-gradient streams, seepages and marshes in forested areas, and breeds in streams.

Population

It is not a common species.

Population Trend

Decreasing

Major Threats

The major threat is habitat loss, in particular due to agriculture and infrastructure development.

Conservation Actions

It is present in several protected areas on the island.
