From the IUCN Red List Species Account:   Range Description This species is known only from Basilan Island in the Philippines. A record from western Mindanao is believed to be a misidentification. Habitat and Ecology It inhabits undisturbed and disturbed streams and rivers in lower montane and lowland forests. Population There is no available information on population status. Population Trend Unknown Major Threats Possible threats to this species include deforestation through logging, habitat conversion to agriculture, and the pollution of streams and rivers. However, updated information on the status of this species and its habitat on Basilan Island are not available from which to make definitive conclusions.
