This species is known from two localities in Antioquia Department, in the northern Cordillera Central, Colombia, between 1,480 and 2,270m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
This species is presumably found beside streams in forest like other species of the genus. Its breeding habits are not known, but the larvae presumably develop in streams.
Only a few specimens have been collected, and its population status is unknown.
The major threats are unknown.
The range of the species does not include any protected areas. More research into its extent of occurrence, ecological requirements and population status is needed, in particular to determine if its range extends beyond the two known localities.
