Range Description

This species is known only from the type locality, São Vicente, in São Paulo State, Brazil.

Habitat and Ecology

There is no information known regarding its habitat preferences or ecological requirements. However, other species within its taxonomic group breed in ponds.

Population

It has only been collected once, so its population status is not known. It is very similar to other species in its taxonomic group in the surrounding region.

Taxonomic Notes

This species was previously within the genus Hyla but has recently been moved to the resurrected genus Dendropsophus (Faivovich et al. 2005). This form might not be a valid species (Rodrigues pers. comm.).
