This species is known from two sites in Mato Grosso State (Aripuanã and Apiacás) and a single location in Rondônia State (Nova Colina), Brazil. It probably occurs more widely than current records suggest, especially in areas between known sites.
Habitat and Ecology
It occurs in the contact zone of the Cerrado savannah ecosystem and the Amazonian rainforest. It presumably breeds in water by larval development, although its breeding habits are not known.
Its population status is not known.
There is no direct information on threats to this species.
It is not known if it occurs in any protected areas.
This species was previously within the genus Hyla but has recently been moved to the resurrected genus Hypsiboas (Faivovich et al. 2005).
