Range Description

This species is known only from the type locality in Selva Río de Oro, Chaco Province, Argentina, at 70m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

There is no information on its habitat and ecological requirements, although it is likely to breed in water.

Population

It is known only from the type specimen collected in the 1960s, and has not been observed during at least three attempts to find it in recent years.

It is not currently known to occur in any protected areas.

Taxonomic Notes

This species was previously within the genus Hyla but has recently been moved to the resurrected genus Hypsiboas (Faivovich et al. 2005). The taxonomic status of this species is uncertain.
