Habitat and Ecology
It occurs in and around torrential streams in montane rainforest. It breeds in streams. It has also been found in degraded forest.
It is abundant wherever it occurs.
There are no known threats.
The taxonomy of the western populations needs to be assessed. Given declines of torrent-dwelling hylids in Australia, monitoring programmes should be initiated. It occurs in Crater Wildlife Management Area.
This form is a complex of composed of several species (S. Richards pers. comm.).
