This species is known only from Wendessi (at 2,400m asl) and from the Arfak Mountains (also at 2,400m asl), Papua, Indonesia. A recent specimen from Yapen Island might be this species, but this has not yet been confirmed (Gunther pers. comm.).
Habitat and Ecology
It presumably occurs in torrential streams in tropical rainforest.
There are no confirmed records of this species since it was first described, so its population status is unknown.
There is no information on threats to this species.
It might occur in Arfak Mountains National Park. If it is a torrent-dwelling species, its population will require close monitoring, given the declines of torrent-dwelling hylids in Australia.
Populations have been referred to this name from various parts of New Guinea, but only the true Litoria pratti is covered in this account (Richards pers. comm.).
