Range Description

This species is known from a wide area in the Mato Grosso region of central and southern Brazil. It has been recorded between 200 and 400m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It is an aquatic species of open flooded savannah areas, and floating meadows of large rivers. It breeds in the associated waterways.

Population

It is common where it occurs.
