This species is known from localities across much of New Britain Island, Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology
It has been recorded from plantations, indicating perhaps some degree of tolerance to habitat modification, where it was calling from beneath coconut husks and leaves. It presumably also occurs in rainforest.
The population status is unknown. It is not known whether or not it has been collected since it was first described.
Additional data on distribution and habitat requirements are needed. It is not known to occur in any protected area.
