Cette espèce découverte dans le comté de Shuicheng (Guizhou) entre 1 910 et 1970 m, dans les Mts Wumeng, ressemble à P. flavomaculatus, mais en diffère par un corps plus grand, les membres plus allongés et une coloration supérieure brun pourpre sans taches sombres, sur le tronc, la queue et les membres. Cette espèce est celle du genre dont la distribution est la plus occidentale. P. sp. 2, quant à elle, ressemble morphologiquement à P. flavomaculatus, mais est plus proche de P. shuichengensis au niveau moléculaire. Cette 4e espèce du genre non décrite formellement correspond à la population de Kuankuoshi (pop. 17) de Zeng et al (Suiyang Co., Guizhou), dans la région du Mt Dalou, au sud des populations de P. sp 1, à 1 350 m. It is similar to P. flavomaculatus and can be differentiated by a bigger body, longer limbs and a purplish brown color, without black spots. P. sp. 2 is morphogically similar to P. flavomaculatus but is more closely related to P. shuichengensis on a molecular basis. This is the fourth species of the genus and has not been formally described. Habitat & Range: Pseudohynobius shuichengensis has been discovered in the Shuicheng County (Guizhou) between 1910 m and 1970 m in the Wumeng Mountains. This species has the most occidental range of its genus. It corresponds to the Kuankuoshi population (pop. 17) of Zeng et al. (Suiyang Co., Guizhou), in the Mount Dalou area, south of the P. sp 1 populations. Altitude: 1350 m.
