For those species that have written accounts in AmphibiaWeb (about one fifth of the total species), the "account text" field searches the text in the species accounts, including fields such as description, distribution, and natural history.

How to search the account text:

Use * as a wildcard character to complete words.

For phrase searches, put double quotes (" ") around the phrase.

Multiple words will be treated as if there is an OR between them, unless:

a + is before the word (then the word after the + MUST be included)

a - is before the word (then the word after the - must NOT be included)
